You will be responsible for performing activities associated with radioactive and hazardous waste treatment, process optimization, equipment troubleshooting, and waste characterization of treated wastes to ensure compliance with disposal criteria and land disposal restrictions. You will be responsible for applying your technical knowledge and skills to ensure that the LLNL’s waste treatment capabilities continue to be effective, safe, and compliant with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations and Department of Energy (DOE) Orders pertaining to the management of radioactive and hazardous waste and associated facilities. You will be part of a close-knit team of highly qualified waste treatment personnel with the common goal of effectively treating the Lab’s radioactive and hazardous waste in the safest and most efficient manner. This position is in the Radioactive and Hazardous Waste Management Program in the Strategic Deterrence Directorate. This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work. This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
