About The Position

Occupational Summary: The Warranty Administrator is responsible for the submission of automotive warranty claims to the manufacturer as well as all communication with manufacturers regarding reimbursement of warranty claims. This individual will keep records of warranty services offered and performed while working with our Service Department and customers. Essential Job Functions: Process warranty claims on a timely basis for each franchise or distributor Verifies criteria required by factory or distributor. Reconciles all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule. Posts credits into the accounting system when received from the manufacturer Resubmit all rejected claims promptly or obtain authorization to write them off. Follows up on payment of outstanding claims. Tracks warranty parts by tagging with the repair order number, date of replacement, and date on which part may be disposed of. Arranges for parts to be shipped to the factory or distributor or to be scrapped. Files and maintains all service records as required by the warrantor. Keeps informed of all factory recalls and bulletins. Assist with the cashier and telephone duties as needed. Assist with administrative projects and research as needed. Communicate with technicians, service advisors, and the service manager as needed Qualifications

Requirements

  • Previous Automotive Warranty experience required - minimum 1 year
  • Valid, and active, NYS Drivers License
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Two years of experience in a general office position.
  • Basic math and bookkeeping skills
  • Ability to use computer, ten-key, CDK or Tekion and to read vendor catalogs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
