About The Position

This position is responsible for: Operating a bailer machine, driving Salvation Army vehicles, as well as Loading and unloading trucks, performing lifting of heavy objects on a regular basis.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required
• one (1) year of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van such as a box truck; OR
• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid State Driver’s License required
• Approved Background Check and Motor Vehicle Request, required.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
• Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations

Responsibilities

• Operates the truck in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations.
• Lifts, carries, loads, and unloads various donations to include furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.
• Ensures the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times.
• operates a bailer machine to secure, package, and bind large volumes of clothing
