About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, this role oversees and coordinates all warehouse operations for the Juvenile Court Center. As the Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll manage a dedicated team, ensure accurate inventory control, and maintain efficient processes for the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities, this position is responsible for supervising and overseeing the warehouse operation located at the Juvenile Court Center. Incumbent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the warehouse supply personnel, directing the daily work functions, and overseeing the work process and quality of work performed. Hiring minimum: $26.39 hr./$54,900.35 annual

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D. certificate and four years of work experience in commercial, institutional, or industrial warehousing and operational processing of the receipt and issuance of supplies, materials, and equipment; and purchasing for an organization or department, including at least one year of lead or supervisory responsibility in one of the aforementioned areas.
  • OR any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education approved by Human Resources.
  • Must have knowledge of principal and practices involved in the ordering, receipt, storage, inventory, and disbursement of a wide variety of materials and equipment.
  • Must have knowledge in warehousing, materials handling, equipment operations and safety procedures.
  • Must have some knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations for safe and effective operations of warehouse management and the use of a variety of equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of methods and practices used in cleaning buildings, maintaining grounds, inventory control, materials and equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA and MSDS materials and procedures.
  • Must have some knowledge of purchasing and requisitioning procedures.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and associated software.
  • Must have knowledge of business English, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and a mathematical aptitude.
  • Must have some knowledge of routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with employees, vendors, the public, judicial staff, and court management.
  • A valid Arizona Class D Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance is considered essential for this position as the facilities team needs to be consistently available to court staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a staff of warehouse employees and the daily warehouse operations.
  • Oversees the receipt, issuance, inventory, and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment for the various Juvenile Court Divisions.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of the work unit staff, verifies time records, authorizes absences, trains employees on new processes, evaluates employees' work for quality, timeliness, and completed tasks.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of new employees, coordinates training of new tasks, establishes work objectives, and conducts employee performance appraisals.
  • Interacts with staff at all levels of the organization to facilitate supply purchases and orders.
  • Supervises the disbursement of documents, materials and equipment.
  • Oversees the warehouse inventory using automated and visual methods.
  • Maintains cataloguing and identification records.
  • Performs quarterly and annual warehouse inventories in coordination with Finance staff.
  • Monitors the Court's automated inventory system.
  • Recommends and assists in identifying equipment needs of the various court divisions.
  • Maintains files and records for activities such as warehouse supplies, inventory, maintenance, and repair requests.
  • Gathers and retrieves information from manual or automated systems to monitor supply usage.
  • Prepares reports as requested.
  • Ensures compliance with specifications and invoice terms for all materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Interacts with procurement personnel to discuss vendor price quotations, the purchase of material, equipment, and supplies.
  • Contacts vendors for price quotations, terms, and discounts for materials and supplies.
  • Operates departmental vehicles for pick up and deliveries of supplies and equipment.
  • Acts on behalf of the Director of Facilities as requested.
  • Acts as the supply and custodial representative to various committees and meetings.
  • Assists various juvenile court divisions by scheduling their requests with the warehouse and maintenance units and to expedite their requests for supplies, repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
