Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Five plus years in distribution environment, preferably steel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of ERP systems
Organizational, leadership and time management skills
Strong problem-solving, planning and decision-making abilities

Nice To Haves

Certification in logistics or supply chain management
Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
Bilingual Spanish
Experience with steel industry

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, ensuring effective team management
Oversee materials handling, including receiving, storing, and shipping products
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment
Operate forklifts and other equipment as necessary for daily operations
Ensure warehouse personnel are assigned to the appropriate work areas throughout the working day to meet deadlines for all processes
Monitor on an established basis, operations, procedures and employees to ensure quality, service and productivity objectives are met.
Partner with Human Resources to recruit and hire new team members and address performance or any other personnel issues, including but not limited to corrective actions and terminations
Assign tasks and monitoring employee performance
Assist with training and development of new and existing employees in safety, proper work assignments, and job responsibilities
Other duties as assigned
