About The Position

This position requires an active USAccess clearance or the ability to obtain a USAccess clearance to be considered. We are seeking a Warehouse Technician to support our hydrologic data collection efforts. Responsibilities include managing shipments, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and providing customer assistance. This role requires proficiency in supply chain software, forklift certification, and the ability to handle hazardous materials. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Warehouse Specialist II: $20.00 per hour. Pay commensurate with experience. Requirements

  • Department of Transportation hazardous material handling training (every three years).
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification (renewed every three years as required by OSHA and USGS).
  • Knowledge of hydrology, electronics, mechanics, mathematics, statistics, warehousing, customer support, computer-aided drafting, and computer science.
  • Proficiency with supply chain software system for inventory control and work order information.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as off-loading trucks, packing, and moving stock.
  • Strong attention to detail for inspecting delivered goods and verifying information.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with other client offices and OFAs.
  • Problem-solving skills to assist customers with shipping issues and discrepancies.
  • Ability to perform periodic pre-operational and preventative maintenance checks on warehouse equipment.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

  • Warehousing: Manage shipments, storage, picking, packing, labeling, material movement, inventory control, and customer assistance.
  • Receiving: Off-load trucks, inspect goods, verify quantities and serial numbers, process items into supply chain software, apply bar code labels, update procurement lists, prepare documentation, and transport items for QC inspections.
  • Storage and put away: Ensure stock is packed, boxed, labeled, stored, and updated in supply chain software; manage inventory control and work order information.
  • Shipping: Prepare orders for shipment, ensure correct selection and handling, enter shipping transactions into supply chain software, schedule shipments, and provide special handling as needed; assist customers with shipping issues.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct annual inventory, reconcile discrepancies, report unresolved issues, and manage excess stock disposition.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance checks on warehouse lift equipment and advise on repair needs. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
