About The Position

The Warehouse Solutions Engineering Manager is responsible for leading warehouse engineering strategy, layout design, automation deployment, and technology integration to optimize material flow, storage capacity, productivity, and operational safety. This role also oversees warehouse quality systems and Quality Control & Repack Operations (QCRO) through a direct Quality Engineering function, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, ISO/IATF standards, traceability controls, and zero-defect execution. The position integrates engineering, project management, and quality leadership to deliver scalable warehouse solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or related technical field required
  • Bilingual English Primary and Spanish
  • 7-12 years of experience in warehouse en Engineering, industrial engineering, logistics design, or large-scale material flow projects.
  • Minimum 3 years leading engineering or technical teams
  • Proven experience with warehouse design, layout optimization, and automation technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead warehouse layout design, storage optimization, slotting engineering, dock configuration, and flow optimization.
  • Design and implement warehouse automation solutions including conveyors, sortation, AGVs/AMRs, AS/RS, shuttle systems, robotic picking, and goods-to-person technology.
  • Evaluate warehouse capacity, throughput analysis, time studies, and simulation modeling to support data-driven engineering decisions.
  • Develop technical specifications, equipment requirements, and engineering standards for warehouse infrastructure.
  • Analyze and optimize material staging, rack configuration, palletization, ergonomics, and material presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety regulations, engineering standards, and building code requirements.
  • Support integration of warehouse systems including WMS, WES, LMS, PLC controls, IoT sensors, and Industrial 4.0 solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT and SAP teams to align system logic with physical process flows. And to implement automation dashboards, process monitoring, and real-time warehouse analytics.
  • Drive continuous improvement of system configuration and warehouse decision logic for improved productivity and accuracy.
  • Lead warehouse quality governance and own Quality Control & Repack Operations (QCRO) through a direct Sr. Quality Engineer.
  • Ensure incoming, in-process, and outbound inspection processes protect customer quality.
  • Deploy error-proofing (Poka-Yoke), First Article Inspection, and process capability validation for new warehouse solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer quality requirements, and PASA Business Operating System (BOS) standards.
  • Oversee corrective actions (8D), 5-Why analysis, control plans, PFMEA, and risk management for warehouse processes.
  • Lead quality response for customer returns, SCARs, supplier quality issues, traceability containment, and labeling compliance.
  • Drive quality ownership in warehouse processes and repack operations, ensuring zero-defect culture.
  • Lead cross-functional warehouse engineering projects from concept through deployment and stabilization.
  • Manage warehouse expansion, redesign, and automation deployment projects.
  • Develop project budgets, timelines, capacity models, and ROI justifications.
  • Lead vendor selection, RFPs, technical evaluations, and engineering reviews.
  • Ensure engineering change management and configuration control are maintained.
  • Drive warehouse productivity through Lean principles and waste elimination.
  • Lead Kaizen events, VSM workshops, time and motion analysis, and layout re-engineering.
  • Implement engineered labor standards and process optimization.
  • Reduce operating costs through engineered warehouse design, space savings, and labor optimization
  • Standardize best practices into procedures, SOPs, and documented work instructions
