About The Position

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment where safety, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery are critical to meeting customer expectations. The Warehouse Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day inbound and outbound warehouse operations. This role monitors daily shipping requirements, provides real-time guidance and issue resolution to Warehouse and Shipping team members, and ensures products are handled properly throughout manufacturing and shipping processes. The Warehouse Shift Lead works closely with the Supervisor, Senior Shipping Coordinator, Warehouse Shipping Clerk, and Warehouse Operations team to execute shipping strategies, support team development, and drive operational efficiency. Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Forklift certified or willing to obtain onsite certification
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions and wear required PPE at all times
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Four (4) or more years of related work experience required

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
  • Oversee planning, organizing, and directing of outbound and inbound warehouse activities
  • Organize and direct warehouse operations to maintain inventory accuracy with a target of 98% or greater
  • Oversee shipping, receiving (offloading), documenting, inventorying, and storing of Finished Goods (FG), Work-In-Progress (WIP), and select components
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements including forklift inspections, ship audits, gladhand and wheel chock usage, and reporting unsafe acts
  • Monitor and assist with staging locations for shipments and material movement, ensuring proper equipment function and space utilization
  • Check drivers in and out as needed and assist with expediting loading processes through inventory lookup and issue research
  • Ensure proper use of shipping documentation including picking lists, bills of lading (BOL), packing slips, and related documents
  • Ensure mold and print drivers execute material movements accurately and store materials in correct locations
  • Manage outbound orders and daily shipping schedule attainment
  • Assist with maintaining daily dock appointments and coordinate driver schedules
  • Perform shipping duties when necessary to support daily outbound strategy
  • Process completed outbound orders in the ASC system, verify documentation, and submit paperwork to the Warehouse Shipping Clerk for review and driver release
  • Support On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) and Schedule Attainment KPI goals
  • Coordinate and track M&M Express trailer and box truck movements
  • Coordinate and track internal transfers between M&M sites
  • Assist with product transfers between manufacturing and Warehouse 5 storage
  • Support coordination of inbound shipments and product returns
  • Attend production meetings as required
  • Communicate with customers when necessary to verify transportation preferences
  • Participate in physical inventory counts
  • Perform daily inventory movements using ASC and handheld terminal (HHT) devices
  • Maintain 5S standards in dock areas
  • Establish Gemba walks and team communication strategies
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
