About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Operations Manager (OM) with a strong background in Operations, construction, home renovation , or related trades to join our branch leadership team. This role directly supports the General Sales Manager (GSM) in overseeing all aspects of branch operations; ensuring projects run smoothly from warehouse to job site, managing third-party installation vendors, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. A key focus of this position is driving branch revenue while maintaining high-quality workmanship and service standards. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in flooring or construction or renovation project management, warehouse operations, and customer service. You should be skilled in leading and motivating teams, coaching contractors and staff, and ensuring field execution meets both safety and quality expectations. A "hands-on" leader with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment will thrive in this role. We're looking for someone ambitious, team-oriented, and ready to grow within our organization. Flexibility, ownership of results, and a willingness to travel or relocate for advancement are highly valued.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience including experience driving performance and leading teams
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to effectively articulate and train one on one or small groups
  • Problem solver who takes a proactive approach to resolve issues with a sense of urgency and improve service
  • Good judgment with the ability to make decisions with discernment, considering all sides
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Positive, dynamic, and enthusiastic personality
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate and build relationships with various personalities
  • Self-starter who can work independently with the motivation to grow
  • Flexible and able to manage shifting priorities or demands in a growing, fast-paced organization with a matrix management reporting structure
  • Efficient and organized with the capability to prioritize and use time effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the home improvement industry preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with diverse flooring products (hardwood, carpet, tile, laminate, etc.) is a plus
  • BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support branch GM in all aspects including, training, maintaining quality and service standards, and profitability
  • Manage, coach, and monitor operations team
  • Lead educational meetings to drive performance and ensure representative's knowledge base
  • Assists in onboarding contractors
  • Address and resolve escalated customer issues to ensure timely, satisfactory settlement
  • Perform site visits for service issues or to verify the quality of installation vendor's work
  • Fill in for GM during planned or unplanned time off, high-volume periods, etc.
