About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and execution of warehouse operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of product throughout the facility. This role provides direct oversight of all core warehouse functions including receiving, replenishment (beer down), order selecting, re-pack, loading, inventory-related processes, and general warehouse execution. The Warehouse Manager is accountable for department performance, labor utilization, safety compliance, process execution, team development, and service support. This role is expected to lead through supervisors and frontline leadership while maintaining a strong floor presence and ensuring consistent execution across all shifts. A critical responsibility of this role is to reinforce Team Cone’s culture by leading through the company’s core values and promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational discipline across all warehouse functions. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring all team members perform their work in accordance with company policy, safe work practices, appropriate material handling techniques, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role is also responsible for evaluating, investigating, and managing warehouse-related security and property protection programs, while maintaining strong focus on cost control through expense reduction, operational efficiency, and increased throughput. The manager maintains full ownership of warehouse operations and daily execution across all functional areas, ensuring activities are aligned with company expectations for service, safety, productivity, quality, and accuracy. They establish and maintain operational structure, accountability, and consistency within the department, driving execution to support customer service requirements and overall company performance. The manager identifies workflow inefficiencies, operational gaps, process breakdowns, and safety concerns, implementing corrective action when needed, and partners with other departments to ensure alignment with broader business needs. They maintain visibility and accountability for daily warehouse conditions, organization, staffing coverage, and operational readiness, reinforcing core values through daily leadership and decision-making. The manager also owns department safety performance, promoting a culture where safe work practices are consistently followed and reinforced, and supports warehouse-related security and property protection, investigating incidents as needed. A strong focus is maintained on cost control by identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase throughput.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and use it to drive performance and accountability.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations including receiving, picking, replenishment, loading, and inventory movement.
  • Ability to lead through supervisors and hold leadership teams accountable.
  • Ability to manage labor, workflow, and operational priorities effectively.
  • Effective coaching, counseling, and performance management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships, communicate expectations, and drive consistent execution.
  • Proficiency with warehouse systems and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Ensure all orders are picked, built, and loaded accurately and on time to meet delivery schedules.
  • Maintain efficient product flow throughout the warehouse to support daily operational demands.
  • Ensure trucks are built correctly and warehouse execution supports route readiness and service commitments.
  • Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and throughput across all warehouse functions.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensure all equipment inspections are completed according to required schedules.
  • Support issue resolution related to inventory, service, staffing, or operational challenges.
  • Ensure product is handled, staged, and moved using appropriate material handling techniques to reduce risk of injury, damages, and operational disruption.
  • Ensure equipment, aisles, dock areas, and work zones are maintained in a safe and organized condition.
  • Monitor daily warehouse activity to identify and address unsafe behaviors, conditions, or process gaps.
  • Plan and manage labor utilization based on daily and weekly workload demands.
  • Align staffing levels and floor coverage to support operational volume and service requirements.
  • Evaluate labor efficiency and adjust deployment of team members based on business needs.
  • Work proactively to ensure labor is being used effectively across all warehouse functions and shifts.
  • Support scheduling decisions, staffing coverage, and workload balancing to maintain operational performance.
  • Monitor department productivity and identify opportunities to improve labor efficiency without sacrificing safety or quality.
  • Collaborate with leadership on staffing needs, workforce planning, and succession development within the department.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, leads, and frontline team members.
  • Hold supervisors accountable for the performance, conduct, development, and daily execution of their teams.
  • Ensure supervisors are consistently managing productivity, attendance, safety expectations, process compliance, team communication, and coaching/corrective action.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to review performance, expectations, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure supervisors are visible, engaged, and actively leading their assigned areas.
  • Provide direct coaching and development to strengthen leadership consistency and operational ownership across the supervisory team.
  • Reinforce the expectation that supervisors own daily execution, team accountability, and communication within their assigned responsibilities.
  • Hold supervisors accountable for enforcing safe work practices and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ensure supervisors are consistently addressing safety expectations through coaching, observation, and corrective action when necessary.

  • Communicate department performance clearly to supervisors and team members.
  • Hold leadership and frontline teams accountable to performance standards and expectations.
  • Use operational reporting and data to support decision-making and improve execution.

  • Utilize warehouse systems to support daily operations, including Encompass (truck building, inventory movement, reporting), Fleetio (equipment and fleet coordination), and Paycom (timekeeping and personnel management).
  • Use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) for communication, reporting, and operational documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records related to performance, coaching, attendance, safety follow-up, and operational follow-up.
  • Ensure department communication and documentation are timely, accurate, and professional.
  • Complete and maintain required company training, safety certifications, and continuing education related to warehouse operations, OSHA awareness, equipment safety, and other job-related compliance requirements.
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintain flexibility to support the operation outside of standard business hours when necessary.
