About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating catering revenue by selling the hotel’s event spaces and catering services for social events, as well as off‑premise catering opportunities. This role manages the full client lifecycle—from initial inquiry through event execution—ensuring exceptional service, strong financial results, and unforgettable guest experiences.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hotel, restaurant, or catering sales experience.
  • Proven sales, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Two‑year degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience with Delphi, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve established catering sales goals as outlined by the Director of Sales
  • Generate new catering business through direct sales efforts, networking, and outside sales calls
  • Conduct tours of the hotel and banquet facilities for prospective clients.
  • Negotiate food and beverage pricing, event space, and hotel services.
  • Prepare and manage catering contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), banquet checks, and final event billing.
  • Serve as the primary client contact from inquiry through event date.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in Delphi
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Assist clients with menu selection and event planning using strong knowledge of hotel facilities and culinary offerings.
  • Ensure invoices are accurate and payments are obtained in accordance with hotel policies.
  • Complete Annual Performance Agreements and Monthly Action Plans.
