About The Position

The person in this position provides support for all issues relating to the shipping, receiving and warehouse areas of the organization. The Group Leader – Warehouse provides direction on the day-to-day activities of the department in order produce in the most efficient and effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
  • Be aware of responsibilities and accountability as clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems
  • Provide daily coaching supervision and feedback to all department employees
  • Coordinate all the shipping activities of the department
  • Provide backup to shipping/receiving and warehouse personnel as needed
  • Oversee freight program and policies
  • Audit monthly freight charges and approve rates through Power-track
  • Continually improve overall performance of the shipping/receiving/warehouse department
  • Fill in for Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse Area Manager in his/her/their absence
  • Participate in scheduled weekend overtime and be “on-call” when scheduled
  • Assist Shipping Area Manager with coordination of all inventories
  • Increase overall productivity to meet customer requirements
  • Monitor schedules, rush orders, hot list, call-ins etc.
  • Coordinate temporary service employees and all related activities
  • Monitor work areas to ensure all employees are working safely
  • Identify and implement process improvements & increased productivity opportunities
  • Enhance internal and external department communication toward creating and maintaining a cohesive work environment
  • Assist the Department Area Manager on following areas: weekly/daily staffing requirements, overtime requirements, quality complaints
  • Provide input into employee disciplinary issues and performance reviews in a timely manner and in line with employee handbook
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
