About The Position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of warehouse processes while providing day-to-day leadership, guidance, and coordination to Warehouse Operators. The Lead performs operational duties daily, serves as point of contact for the warehouse team, and helps drive continuous improvement including supporting training and development. This role ensures productivity, quality, and safety standards are consistently met across all warehouse and baling operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2+ years of warehouse, recycling, baler operation or other similar industrial experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and OSHA standards
  • Prior experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift at least fifty (50) pounds

  • Previous leadership or lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to Warehouse Operators
  • Follow and enforce all safety standards and company policies to ensure a safe working environment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards across the team
  • Safely operate large industrial baling machines to process recyclable materials
  • Safely operate fork trucks, pallet movers, and skid steer equipment
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper dock safety and material handling
  • Ensure proper care and use of equipment within the warehouse, including preventative maintenance tasks assigned to operators and/or troubleshooting
  • Verify proper sorting, processing, and stacking of recyclable materials by grade or type
  • Track all reporting requested of warehouse activities and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and quality
  • Assist with training of new employees on equipment, safety procedures, and workflows
  • Coordinate workflow to ensure production goals and deadlines are met
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding staffing, production, and operational concerns
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, safety, and efficiency
  • Support implementation of operational improvements and best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
