About The Position

The Operations Lead is responsible for training all new hires in the functions within their specific warehouse department. This position will have responsibility over production and reporting while delegating the workload. Serves as a back-up to other leads/coordinators when needed. This is a hands-on position that will also require doing the direct functions when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3-5 years of warehouse experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, safety rules, and procedures
  • Basic math skills to verify quantities and pricing
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage changing priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, or other equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Train and develop new hires to meet the production standards and goals set by the company.
  • Work with all coordinators to monitor daily workload to allocate labor where needed in the warehouse.
  • Train employees on powered equipment needed to complete the job (ex: Wave, Big Joe)
  • Run production reports periodically throughout the day to monitor picking and put-away productivity.
  • Work with coordinators/supervisor for the end of day reporting and any other items needed to close out the day.
  • Hand select items using pick-lists from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems to fulfill customer orders.
  • Inspect products for dents or imperfections to ensure quality products are shipped to customers.
  • Ensure count accuracy through handheld scanners and other inventory control methods.
  • Operate various equipment to include hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts in a safe manner and within company guidelines.
  • Relocate completed picked orders to the shipping department.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory counts and communicating with management when discrepancies arise.
  • Perform quality control checks on orders to ensure order accuracy.
  • Prepare the order to be shipped as per internal guidelines and shipping regulations for domestic and international shipping / packaging.
  • Break down cardboard and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Communicate concerns, discrepancies, and product information to management team.
  • Ensure work performed meets individual productivity goals to support the facility goals for on-time release of trailers and customer orders.
  • Understand and maintain ongoing knowledge of the company's safety policy and procedures.
