About The Position

The Vice President, Sales is responsible for leading and managing the combustion and industrial heating sales teams for Infrastructure Solutions (IS) Domestic and International Sales to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Key Deliverables · Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for combustion and industrial heating products including capital equipment, parts and construction services across both U.S. and international markets. · Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to foster high performance, accountability, and professional development. · Establish a structured plan and supporting procedures to streamline and enhance customer order processing. · Provide strategic input on product improvements and new design opportunities, supporting product development and field-testing initiatives. · Oversee and execute effective territory sales campaigns, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred.
  • 10 + years of experience required.
  • International sales experience, preferably in a management position.
  • Combustion and industrial heating equipment sales experience and knowledge.
  • Must be able to effectively supervise others.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills are required.
  • Able to solve problems on a strategic and functional level.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general businesses periodicals, sales reports, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, group managers, associates, clients, and general public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suites.
  • Strong working knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as employee motivation techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to improve market share in the domestic US and international markets as well as achieving revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
  • Identify new market opportunities and drive business development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, representatives and stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Responsible for communicating both domestic and international customers’ requirements and expectations throughout the ASTEC organization enabling our design, manufacturing, and support teams to provide high quality products on time to meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Create proactive training programs, proactively plan dealer and customer visits, as well as customer surveys.
  • Monitor customer concerns, complaints, and suggestions to ensure timely responses and resolutions.
  • Ensure the dealers’ sales teams for combustion and the Astec sales teams for industrial heating are equipped with the information required to sell the company products.
  • Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts. Participate in setting goals and monitoring progress.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team to ensure high performance and achievement of sales goals.
  • Foster a results-oriented culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
  • Make specific recommendations to ASTEC’s management on equipment design, performance, reliability, and pricing to keep pace in a dynamic marketplace.
  • Responsible for the development and achievement of the annual sales and margin plan, quarterly sales and margin plan, monthly sales, and margin plan, by markets domestic and international, and by regions throughout the United States and Canada.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
