About The Position

Leads all back-end revenue cycle operations for UF Health, including billing, collections, payment posting, and account resolution. Ensures the financial health of the system by optimizing claim submissions, accelerating payment, reducing denials, and cultivating a positive financial experience for patients. Working cross-functionally, drives high standards for accuracy, compliance, and customer service, and ensures the team adapts to changing payer landscapes and regulatory environments.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Business Administration with a Healthcare or Finance concentration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ progressive leadership experience in patient financial services
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a large team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Expertise in healthcare administration and revenue cycle
  • Knowledge of Healthcare regulations and compliance standards
  • Proven track record of improving financial performance and operational efficiency
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making

Responsibilities

  • Direct the billing and collections lifecycle from claims submission to payment, including oversight of government and commercial payer processes
  • Establish effective policies for bad debt, charity care, and patient payment plans in alignment with UF Health and regulatory frameworks
  • Lead strategies to reduce A/R days, minimize avoidable write-offs, and improve first-pass claim acceptance
  • Drive continuous improvement in patient billing communications, patient portal utilization, and responsiveness to patient financial concerns
  • Monitor payer trends and collaborate with contracting to advocate for operational remedies and escalate chronic issues
  • Analyze billing and A/R performance, provide actionable insights, and recommend technology or workflow enhancements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing financial services team focused on both accountability and patient-centered service
