Join us and put your skills to work where they genuinely make a difference Areas of Responsibility The Vice President of Programs & Operations is accountable for the performance, growth, and financial outcomes of the company’s government supply contract portfolio. This leader sets the strategies, priorities, and operating frameworks that guide how contracts are performed, optimized, and scaled after award, while remaining hands-on in a lean, fast-moving organization. This person will oversee more than 30 team members and leaders across Vendor Partnerships, Program Management, Customer Support, and Sales, and work closely with the Business Development, Finance, Technology, and the People teams to support growth. Contract Performance Own and be accountable for performance and economic outcomes across awarded contracts, including on-time delivery of supplies, inventory fill rates, service levels, margin trends, cost-to-serve dynamics, and scalability. Own forecasting and budgeting for the contract portfolio in partnership with Finance, including variance analysis and corrective actions when performance deviates from plan. Establish practical, repeatable approaches for contract readiness, launch, steady-state execution, optimization, and renewal. Provide performance and economic insights to inform bid strategy, pricing assumptions, renewal decisions, and investment tradeoffs. Serve as the senior escalation point and hands-on resource when needed to resolve material performance, margin, or execution issues in a lean operating environment. Building, Scaling, & Optimizing the Supply Chain Own the design and evolution of the company’s logistics and fulfillment model, including procurement, inventory, drop-shipping, 3PLs, and freight consolidation and forwarding. In partnership with the VP of Business Development, identify and build the operational and logistical capabilities required to support future growth. Partner with the Technology team to improve systems, automation, and data visibility that enable better decisions and operating leverage. Translate strategy into clear priorities, KPIs, and operating rhythms. Anticipate and address operational, economic, or capacity constraints. Program, Vendor & Customer Support Leadership Build and scale a robust program management function, hiring and developing the team, and establishing the operating model, processes, and rigor required to support consistent, disciplined execution and performance as contract volume and complexity increase. Define and own our vendor strategy and partnership model. Serve as the senior relationship owner and escalation point for vendors, leading engagement on performance issues, strategic alignment, capacity planning, and commercial tradeoffs. Define how customer support and sales scale with contract volume and complexity while maintaining service quality, responsiveness, and cost discipline. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a core member of the executive leadership team, shaping and executing the company’s strategic plan; participate in executive planning sessions and off-sites; and present to, advise, and engage directly with ownership and the Board of Advisors. Lead, coach, and develop teams and leaders across programs, vendor partnerships, sales, and customer operations. Serve as an executive point of contact for key government customers, including Contracting Officers and agency leadership, providing confident, accountable leadership on contract performance, risk management, and issue resolution. Work closely with: Business Development to ensure operational feasibility of growth plans Finance to align forecasts, budgets, and performance reporting with operational realities and priorities Technology to enable scalable execution Our People team, to build high-performing and values-driven leaders and teams Success in This Role Looks Like The contract portfolio delivers profitable, predictable growth, with new contracts launching smoothly and existing contracts performing consistently and at target margins. The organization is prepared to pursue new contract vehicles and product categories, with each expansion supported by fit-for-purpose supply chain design, vetted vendor partnerships, and clear operational playbooks. Teams and leaders are high-performing, values-driven, and engaged, with clear accountability and the capability to execute autonomously as the business scales.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience as a senior leader (Sr. Director, VP, SVP, COO, etc.) with experience in the following areas:
  • Managing and developing high-performing, engaged leaders and teams
  • Accountability for both revenue and cost targets: you’ve been a General Manager, Program Manager, or owned a P&L.
  • Vendor management, procurement, or sourcing for physical products.
  • Building and optimizing supply chains and operations in growing organizations: you understand distribution and logistics.
  • You’re pragmatic, data-driven, and collaborative, with high ownership and sound judgment: this is a hands-on role with broad scope and autonomy, suited to someone comfortable both setting strategy and supporting its execution.
  • You’re excited about remote work and available to work during our core hours of 7AM - 4PM PST
