About The Position

The VP of Operations is responsible for creating the operational engine that delivers exceptional customer experiences while maintaining strong margins and installation efficiency. The VP of Operations will oversee installation teams, subcontractor networks, project management processes, and production leadership across markets. Requirements

  • 8+ years of operations or installation leadership experience
  • Experience managing field operations in home services or home improvement
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling operational teams
  • Experience managing subcontractor or contractor networks
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling and project management
  • Experience supporting high-volume sales environments

  • Preferred experience in the home improvement industry

Responsibilities

  • Lead all installation and production operations across markets
  • Recruit, develop, and manage production managers and project managers
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across field teams
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at high quality standards
  • Build and maintain a reliable network of subcontracted installation crews
  • Establish contractor onboarding standards and performance expectations
  • Ensure subcontractor capacity aligns with sales volume and market growth
  • Maintain strong relationships with key trade partners
  • Develop standardized processes for project scheduling, job handoffs, and installation execution
  • Improve operational efficiency through process improvement and system development
  • Implement tools and reporting that provide visibility into production performance
  • Partner closely with the sales organization to ensure clean job handoffs
  • Improve communication between sales, operations, and customer experience teams
  • Reduce change orders, project delays, and installation issues
  • Ensure every project delivers a high-quality customer experience
  • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction metrics
  • Implement processes that minimize callbacks and warranty issues
  • Develop operational playbooks for launching new markets
  • Support the opening of new locations by building installation capacity
  • Ensure operational readiness as sales volume grows
  • Maintain strong gross margin discipline on installation projects
  • Monitor installation costs, labor productivity, and operational efficiency
  • Work with leadership to improve profitability through operational improvements
