About The Position

VP of Operations must be able to make good judgments without the benefit of others immediate counsel and must be exceptional documenters. They must be able to perform their duties autonomously.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in transportation sector
• 5+ years’ experience in leadership role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective decision-making skills
• Experience writing business plans
• Intermediate user ability for Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Develop and Improve operational processes
• Assign responsibilities and delegate tasks in order to effectively manage the day to day operations
• Forecast and review network balance and adjust as needed.
• Define and help develop functional roles within operations
• Focus on strategic planning, goal planning and managing budgets/bottom lines
• Develop, coach & ensure proper training of office staff and drivers
• Hold drivers and office staff accountable to expectations & productivity metrics
• Build customer relationships to ensure overall satisfaction, account retention and improved service.
• Seek out new business opportunities with existing customers
• Coach, train, lead management, planners and operations staff in the values of the organization.
• Develop and foster the speed of trust within the organization.
