In this role you will be responsible for sourcing and developing new merchant partnerships for our point-of-sale credit solutions in the Retail segment. This includes furniture, mattress, appliance, electronics, jewelry, fitness, home improvement and other industries where financing is used. This role is important to growing ClarityPay and requires an experienced business development professional with a proven track record closing deals with medium to enterprise merchants, and the ability to work strategically while also executing hands-on to drive win-win outcomes.

Requirements

  • Energetic, positive, collaborative, solution oriented and goal focused.
  • Deep understanding of merchant needs in the Retail segment and passion to help them.
  • 6+ years of experience in selling to merchants, prefer at least 2 years of experience in POS financing, PLCC/co-brand cards, or BNPL.
  • Strong existing network of merchant relationships in Retail segment at the leadership level and track record of acquiring new merchant relationships.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience negotiating agreements, pricing and terms.
  • Financial acumen, prefer knowledge of lending and the key levers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in early-stage environments, help shape strategy and product, collaborate well with others and focus on solutions to address challenges.
  • Able to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Comfortable using PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive a business development plan for target accounts in Retail or similar verticals where financing is used.
  • Identify and prioritize target prospects including conducting research and qualifying.
  • Source, negotiate, and close new merchant partnerships.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop proposal pricing and terms based on your market insights and client analysis.
  • Craft tailored proposals and pitch strategies that compel targets to move forward.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to get new clients onboarded and launched.
  • Provide support to Client Success team to ensure client expectations are aligned with solution being delivered.
  • Identify and develop partnerships with platforms and other players in the ecosystem.
  • Positively represent ClarityPay at conferences and in the market.
  • Update and maintain all records in sales management system.
  • Adhere to defined processes and policies for completing work.
