Purpose: Athene is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Internal Wholesaling to lead and evolve our internal sales organization. This role is responsible for overseeing a high-performing team of internal wholesalers and sales support professionals, driving strategic sales initiatives, and contributing to the continued growth of Athene’s distribution capabilities. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, strategic thinker, and effective communicator with deep experience in financial services. Accountabilities: Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing Internal Wholesaling organization (70+ wholesalers, 15+ sales support), fostering a culture of accountability, development, and results Set and execute the strategic direction for the function, aligning to enterprise priorities and driving growth through strong cross-functional partnership Build an inclusive, performance-driven environment that empowers teams, develops leaders, and encourages innovation and continuous improvement Drive operational excellence by optimizing processes, tools, and sales strategies to enhance productivity and client outcomes Leverage data and insights to monitor performance, inform decisions, and deliver clear, consistent communication across teams and leadership

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in financial services (annuity or retirement solutions preferred)
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience leading and developing high-performing teams with a focus on engagement and growth
  • Proven ability to lead through change and growth, while driving culture, talent development, and consistent performance at scale
  • Strategic, data-driven thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering measurable results in complex environments
  • Collaborative and influential leader who communicates effectively, builds trust across stakeholders, and acts with ownership and accountability
