About The Position

MediaCo Holding, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and entrepreneurial VP/General Manager to lead WMBC-TV. As the head of our New York City television operations, you will be responsible for the station’s overall performance, including strategic planning, revenue growth, content development, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a seasoned broadcast executive who understands the complexities of the NYC market and can navigate a rapidly evolving digital and linear landscape.

Requirements

15+ years of progressive leadership experience in television or radio station management (General Manager or Director of Sales experience preferred).
Deep understanding of the New York City DMA and its unique competitive landscape.
Proven track record of integrating traditional broadcast with digital and social media growth strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or a related field
Exceptional negotiation, public speaking, and people management skills.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term vision for WMBC-TV to increase market share and brand presence.
Revenue Growth: Drive aggressive sales strategies across local, national, and digital platforms; foster high-level relationships with key advertisers and agencies.
Operational Excellence: Oversee all station departments, including Sales, News/Programming, Engineering, and Finance, ensuring a high-performance culture.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the station remains in strict adherence to all FCC regulations and legal requirements.
Community & Partnerships: Serve as the face of WMBC-TV in the NYC community, building meaningful partnerships with civic leaders and organizations.
Financial Oversight: Manage the P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning to maximize EBITDA.
