About The Position

Summary: The Vice President of Differentiated Support will set and execute the compliance strategy for the Differentiated Support program, develop business strategies and performance metrics that align departmental goals with corporate objectives, and drive consistent, scalable approaches across the field distribution system. This leader will influence senior stakeholders, manage compliance and supervision policies and processes that apply to large national teams, and lead a small, dedicated team to deliver programmatic compliance, operational effectiveness, and measurable outcomes. Roles & Responsibilities: Partner with Enterprise Leaders working to define and implement a differentiated distribution strategy for Northwestern Mutual’s large national teams. Build implement the compliance strategy for the Differentiated Support program to ensure consistent adherence to federal/state regulations and company policy. Develop and maintain business strategies, KPIs and dashboards that align Differentiated Support objectives with broader corporate goals and measure program effectiveness. Serve as a compliance subject-matter expert for program design, escalation, remediation and continuous improvement efforts. Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Legal, Risk, Operations, Product and Distribution to drive program adoption and resolve complex issues. Manage stakeholder expectations, drive consensus, and lead change management across dispersed teams and geographies; travel as required to network offices. Develop and lead core team delivering on the differentiated compliance strategy, partner with VP-Supervision Standards on differentiated supervision deliverables. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (preferably with emphasis in broker-dealer compliance) or equivalent prior experience in broker-dealer compliance. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the investment, variable insurance and securities industry in compliance, supervision and / or distribution leadership. Demonstrated experience working with large, national teams and influencing multiple stakeholders across complex organizations. Thorough knowledge of federal/state securities and insurance regulations and regulatory expectations for broker-dealers/advisory practices. Exceptional technical and analytical skills with a track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills; able to communicate complex compliance matters clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience designing and implementing differentiated or risk-based compliance programs. Experience with monitoring technology, data analytics platforms or compliance automation tools. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage remote or field-based teams. Compensation Range: Pay Range - Start: $154,000.00 Pay Range - End: $286,000.00 This role is eligible for additional short-term and long-term incentive compensation. Requirements
