Volunteer Program Assistant (Per Diem)

Provides assistance to Volunteer Coordinator(s) responsible for High School Student Volunteer Program in order to ensure that the student volunteer program is well organized and professionally managed. Assists with planning and implementation of program, specifically in areas of onboarding, placement, orientation/training, and recognition activities. Works closely with student leaders and is responsible for social activities and group activities for volunteers during the year. Provides clerical assistance necessary for program's success. Requirements
- High school graduate required. College degree preferred.
- Applicants must have personal volunteer experience in some setting.
- Proven experience in program development and coordination, public speaking and presentations, leading training programs, project coordination.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with Hospital staff.
- Competency in technology, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Volunteer management software Vsys is a plus.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with volunteers preferred in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance in organizational preparation for high school student volunteer program.
- Assists with screening process of high school student volunteers.
- Assists with coordination of high school student volunteer scheduling process.
- Assists with coordination of orientation/training programs.
- Assists with recognition activities and special events for high school student volunteers.
- Serves as resource to Student Leaders.
- Provides clerical assistance in Volunteer Services Department.
