About The Position

Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Constellation is seeking a Part-time Volunteer Coordinator to join our Volunteer Program Team to be responsible for planning, recruiting, onboarding, coordinating, and managing volunteer program activities in the organization. Requirements

  • College degree, advanced degree in human services preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a health care setting. Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteers.
  • Understands hospice philosophy.
  • Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs.
  • Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
  • advanced degree in human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits volunteers via outreach to senior centers, churches, schools, as well as online vehicles.
  • Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteering benefits.
  • Collaborates with onboarding and training new volunteers.
  • Establishes a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire hospice team.
  • Assigns, coordinates and supervises volunteer activities, primarily direct patient care.
  • Maintains volunteer documentation by reviewing volunteer reports and sharing information with hospice team.
  • Supervises and evaluates volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Attends interdisciplinary team meetings, represents volunteers and creates MD orders and care plans.
  • Assists in ongoing education and recognition programs including annual mandatory updates.
