Basic Function Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and updating Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) network builds and configurations to ensure compliance with requirements and standards. This role involves managing equipment builds, configuring egress and ingress call flows, collaborating with internal teams and customers on deployments, and providing analysis on network capacity for E9-1-1 voice and peering networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3 years in technical support, network planning, or telephony networking.
  • Hands-on experience with protocols such as SIP, CAMA, and SS7.
  • Familiarity with basic UNIX commands.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and update PSAP network builds and configurations in alignment with established standards and corporate policies.
  • Configure and maintain equipment such as SBC, SONUS, TGW, IENV, Metaswitch, AudioCodes, etc., ensuring proper egress and ingress call flow.
  • Plan and execute network builds from delivery through integration.
  • Maintain and update projects related to E9-1-1 implementation, peering, and equipment migrations (e.g., ALIM).
  • Work closely with internal teams and customers to support deployments and recommend system enhancements.
  • Proactively troubleshoot network issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Conduct traffic studies on existing infrastructure to identify areas of concern.
  • Generate and analyze monthly network element capacity reports for E9-1-1 voice and peering equipment.
  • Provide second-level technical support for designated functions (e.g., NOC, Circuit Order Management).
  • Assist in developing technical job instructions to improve service activation processes.
  • Share best practices and guidance with team members.
  • Provide status updates to project leads throughout assigned projects.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers.
