About The Position

VoICE Systems Engineer: CEXEC, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and results-oriented VoICE Systems Engineer to support the FAA in modernizing air traffic control voice communications. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise in Air Traffic Control (ATC) voice communications, including voice switch hardware, software, systems, analog/electrical/digital/VoIP interfaces, and networking. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the team on system requirements development, industry and market research, source selection, verification and validation, implementation, and full system life cycle planning and management. Additionally, the candidate will review and prepare engineering and technical analysis reports and other technical documentation. Responsibilities may also include the analysis, design, development, implementation, and testing of software related to the engineering or functional requirements of the NAS and its associated support systems. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for the design, development, modification, and evaluation of complex Air-to-Ground (A/G) radio, voice switch, voice control systems (VCS), voice recording, and protocol conversion systems used in operational ATC communications. You will play a key role in systems engineering and advanced research and development during the pre-delivery design, integration, and acceptance phases. Responsibilities may also include the analysis, design, development, implementation, and testing of software related to the engineering or functional requirements of the NAS and its associated support systems. The products primarily involve digital radio and voice systems installed in FAA facilities. These systems utilize IP technology to enable voice and data communication over a secure network (VoIP), facilitating critical air-ground communications between pilots and air traffic controllers nationwide. Your duties will include technical responsibility for planning and executing programs and projects. This encompasses customer interfacing, requirements development, design reviews, and technical interchanges. Additionally, you will oversee all aspects of prototype and product system design, development, demonstration, evaluation, installation, acceptance, and O&M support.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience including ATC voice communications systems.
  • Deep knowledge of the FAA, including NAS Voice Communications Systems and Switches.
  • Domain expertise in ATC voice switch hardware, software, systems, and analog/electrical/digital/VoIP interfaces.
  • Experience with requirements and design for ATC voice switch A/G trunks, ground-to-ground (G/G) trunks, and networking.
  • Understanding of communications systems/networks and voice/data communications designs.
  • Familiarity with FAA standards.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project schedules.
  • Adaptability within a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Responsibilities
