As a Vocational Support Specialist, you will provide both on-site and off-site training and support for clients, guiding them through skill development, career planning, and retaining employment. Your responsibilities will include conducting instructional activities related to soft, work, and independent living skills while also collaborating with clients to create individualized service plans. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate is required; an associate’s or bachelor's degree in an applicable field from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance are required.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation and annual Relias training is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rehabilitation, employment services, case management, social services, or other applicable experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct soft skills and vocational training for clients to facilitate job readiness and retention.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Coordinate work-based learning experiences, including orientation and completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Transport clients to support their goals in line with their individualized service plans.
  • Monitor client progress and ensure compliance with service authorizations.
  • Provide job site analyses and establish community-based training opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and employers, advocating for clients' needs in the workplace.
  • Educate employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and facilitate necessary job accommodations.
