About The Position

We are seeking an energetic, independent, and mission-driven Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist (VRS) to join our team in the Keyser District . As a VRS, you are the bridge between ambition and achievement. You will work daily with individuals diagnosed with Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Veterans, and those facing economic challenges to help them obtain and maintain competitive employment. You will be the face of Omega Health in the local public domain, fostering independence and self-sufficiency for our local citizens.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience (One of the following): Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or History & Arts. Associate’s Degree + 1 year of relevant experience. High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical & Compliance: Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Asana .
  • Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proper insurance coverage.
  • Ability to pass a Drug Screen and comprehensive Background Check (Federal, State, and County).
  • First Aid/CPR certification (can be obtained upon employment).

Nice To Haves

  • Note: 3 years of General Education or Tutoring experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Career Placement: Support individuals in achieving employment goals, from initial job searches to long-term career advancement.
  • On-the-Job Support: Provide quality assistance during new hire screenings, orientations, and throughout the duration of employment.
  • Advocacy & Innovation: Identify and implement assistive technologies and reasonable accommodations to ensure workplace success.
  • Relationship Building: Facilitate positive connections between individuals, coworkers, and supervisors; develop "natural supports" within the workplace to decrease dependence on paid staff.
  • Documentation: Maintain daily service logs via OHS software and ensure all PCP/IEP weekly support visit requirements are met.
  • Logistics: Provide community or employment transportation to participants using personal or agency vehicles.
