About The Position

The Boston Conservatory Vocal/Choral Intensive is a two-week summer program for pre-college singers that serves as a recruitment tool for our undergraduate voice programs. Instruction in this program is primarily served by current Conservatory faculty, with support from graduate students for teaching small sections of music theory/sight-singing, individual voice coachings, as well as serving in the choirs. Dates: June 18-July 6, 2026 Choral section leaders will serve as performers in the VCI Choral Ensemble, and will attend all choral rehearsals. Duties may include assisting VCI Choral Director Dr. Stephen Spinelli with sectional rehearsals and other responsibilities as needed.Performers must be available for the Grand Finale performance and reception, as well as all evening rehearsals. Choral rehearsal will take place during the day on Monday, June 24 and Thursday, July 4. Meetings: TBD [~2 hours] - pre-program Rehearsals: TBD [18 hours] Performances: TBD [5 hours]

Requirements

• Current graduate students at Boston Conservatory
• Experience in either voice teaching, theory teaching, or choral singing
• Able to establish safe learning environments where students can thrive
• Serve as ambassadors for our Conservatory voice programs

Responsibilities

• Serving as performers in the VCI Choral Ensemble
