About The Position

The Visitor Services Representative greets, directs, and provides information and assistance to patients, guests, and team members. This role facilitates patient visitation and acts as a liaison between patients, families, and team members. Additionally, the representative performs relevant screening procedures for individuals entering facilities during periods of need, such as influenza or other pandemics, as determined by Prisma Health.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma/highest degree earned
• 1 year of experience in a Customer Service position
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
• Data Entry

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate assistance to patients, greeting them upon arrival, ensuring orders and other documentation are accurate, and checking patients in using appropriate departmental procedures.
• Performs screening duties for patients, guests, and team members entering facilities using infrared thermometers and scripted screening questions during periods of influenza or other pandemic periods.
• Performs other tasks and responsibilities associated with particular work station as appropriate.
• Facilitates patient visitation.
• Provides general assistance to family members and guests by assisting them while waiting and providing comfort measures when needed.
• Facilitates communication between patients, family members, guests, and team members, serving as a liaison.
• Provides appropriate assistance to team members, including assisting with patient check-in and patient tracking procedures.
• Helps with departmental clerical tasks and errands as appropriate.
• Assists in maintaining clean and quiet surroundings.
