About The Position

This project will develop agent-based workflows with OpenCode to speed up materials science simulations. We will create a set of practical “playbooks” (agent.md and skills.md) that guide AI assistants to prepare simulation inputs, run calculations, and analyze results in a reliable, repeatable way. The work will use high-performance computing resources and open-weight large language models. Students will learn how to accelerate research with multi-agent approaches and how to deploy state-of-the-art tools on leadership-class supercomputers, including Aurora at Argonne, one of the world’s fastest systems for scientific computing.
