About The Position

The Center for Structural Biology of Infectious Diseases carries a systematic structural characterization of essential enzymes from pathogens (bacteria and viruses) including, mycobacterial aaRSs and others, to facilitate structure-based drug design. High-resolution crystal structures of enzyme complexes with substrates, reaction intermediates, inhibitors and co-factors have been determined, revealing specific binding interactions. Collaborative efforts have enabled the identification and structural analysis of novel inhibitors targeting these enzymes, advancing the development of antimycobacterial therapeutics. Students will participate in molecular and structural biology experiments and data analysis.
