About The Position

The Jacobs School of Music seeks applicants for a visiting, full-time faculty position in the Ballet Department for the 2026-27 academic year (August 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027). The successful candidate will possess demonstrable strengths as a performer and choreographer, will be able to work effectively with faculty colleagues, and will be able to inspire gifted students in a highly competitive and professionally‐oriented educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching ballet technique, pointe, virtuosity, variations, and both contemporary and classical ballet partnering (team-taught with a colleague) for all ballet majors
  • Staging and coaching ballets for the IU Ballet Theater
  • Choreographing new works for IU Ballet Theater and IU Opera Theater productions
  • Teaching select classes for the upper level of the Jacobs Academy Ballet Program
  • Participation in recruitment, auditions, student advising, and other department activities, and participation in projects within the Jacobs School, is expected.
