About The Position

The Political Science Department at Wellesley College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in International Relations beginning in Fall 2026. We are open to scholars with expertise in all substantive subfields, although we are interested in scholars who could teach courses on the international relations of a particular region, in particular, East Asia, Latin America, or Russia and Eurasia. Visiting Teaching Professors are expected to teach five courses over the duration of the appointment. In addition to class meeting times, the candidate will hold regular office hours in person and promptly respond to student inquiries throughout the semester.

Requirements

  • Qualifications include a Ph.D. within the last five years of the time of appointment (ABD considered)
  • Demonstrated expertise in the field of international politics.
  • Evidence of effective teaching.
