The Wellesley College Anthropology Department invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor (VATP) to teach two courses during the 26-27 academic year. The candidate will teach Introduction to Forensic Anthropology in the Fall semester and Introduction to Biological Anthropology in the Spring semester. Compensation will be $10,000 per course. Access to previous teaching materials for these courses will be available to the candidate should they choose to use them in constructing their courses, though the successful candidate will have the freedom to design the courses based on their own preferences. Depending on the applicant pool, two different VATPs may be hired to each teach one course, so applicants should be sure to specify in their cover letter whether they are applying to teach only one of the needed courses (and which one) or both. In addition to class meeting times, the candidate will hold regular office hours in person and promptly respond to student inquiries throughout the semester. There are no expectations for this position regarding formal advising. The candidate will be expected to engage in professional development and departmental service as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
