The Art Department at Wellesley College seeks an architectural historian to teach two courses in the spring of 2027. The field of specialization is open, but we are particularly interested in candidates who are able to teach architecture from a global perspective in the early modern period and/or eighteenth-century, and those with expertise in the intersections of architecture, ecology, and the environment. One course should be a survey-style class appropriate for intermediate students; the other should be a seminar appropriate for intermediate and advanced students. In addition to class meeting times, the candidate will hold regular office hours in person and promptly respond to student inquiries throughout the semester. There are no expectations for this position regarding formal advising. The candidate will be expected to engage in professional development and departmental service as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
