The Psychology Department at Davidson College invites applications for a 2-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychology position beginning July 1, 2026. Area of focus is Open, with preference for Cultural Psychology. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interest and the capacity for excellence in teaching in a liberal arts context. The teaching load for this position is 5 courses over 2 semesters. The successful candidate will teach courses in their area of expertise, including a survey course, advanced seminar, and an advanced research methods course. The successful candidate may also teach core courses within the department (e.g., General Psychology, Capstone seminar, Research Design & Statistics 1, or Research Design & Statistics 2) depending on curricular need. We provide visiting faculty with mentoring in teaching, financial support for research, and resources for professional development (e.g., conference travel funding). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field by July 2026.
