About The Position

The World Languages Department at Covenant College, an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America and an academically rigorous Christian college emphasizing the liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor (Spanish) position beginning January 1, 2026. The candidate who fills this position will be expected to teach a wide range of courses at the undergraduate level in support of the Spanish major and program and the general education requirement for language.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Spanish
  • Desire to engage in teaching from a biblical frame of reference
  • Excellent teacher
  • Enthusiastic about actively connecting his or her teaching to the community of Spanish speakers in the Chattanooga area
  • Dedicated to developing further as a Christian scholar

Nice To Haves

  • A doctoral degree in Spanish from a regionally accredited institution

Responsibilities

  • Teach four classes a semester of elementary, intermediate, and upper-level Spanish courses.
  • Post syllabi and grades promptly.
  • Plan lessons and assignments, grade assignments, respond to student inquiries, and submit final grades.
