The Virtual Assembly Simulation Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing virtual assembly simulations that analyze automotive assembly processes to reduce risk, improve safety, and optimize efficiency before physical production begins. Key responsibilities include conducting realistic virtual assembly trials and validating workstation processes using Siemens Process Simulate, motion capture, and virtual reality tools to simulate operators of varying anthropometric percentiles and evaluate reach, vision, and clearance for consistent job performance across the workforce. This position requires close collaboration with program specialists and engineers across disciplines-including industrial engineering, product engineering, feasibility, logistics, workplace integration, tooling, ergonomics/safety-and incorporating operator feedback to visualize and validate future operations and product builds, enabling planning teams to make informed decisions early when changes are cost-effective. The candidate is expected to identify and resolve issues related to human factors and workstation design by applying ergonomics, industrial engineering principles, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) guidelines. The role also involves utilizing Siemens Teamcenter PLM to access manufacturing and product design data, championing data-driven decisions, documenting and tracking simulation studies, and reporting findings to stakeholders while maintaining effective communication with corporate and plant personnel at all levels. Additionally, the Simulation Lead is responsible for continuously improving simulation capabilities through innovation and technology adoption. Travel may be required.
