About The Position

This position primarily assists the principal with daily duties. The vice principal will assist the faculty with improved performance, increasing access to instruction for all students, curriculum evaluation and implementation, course offerings and data-driven decision-making all in alignment with Queen of Angels School's Catholic identity. The vice principal will also oversee the professional development of faculty, lead the accreditation process, and be a collaborative member of the school community to support the success of faculty, students and families. The vice principal is a member of the school's leadership team.

Requirements

  • Valid teaching certification and ongoing professional development
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to lead and work within teams, organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, ability to build student relationships, content knowledge of elementary school academics, and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with families, students, and staff.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Teams, Google, Excel, and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Background and experience in Catholic education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the principal, the vice principal will help set standards for faculty expectations. Then communicate and enforce them effectively.
  • Mentor and improve instructional practices through frequent classroom visits. Schedule teacher conferences to set goals and provide regular, documented feedback on performance.
  • Monitor and ensure grades are updated regularly.
  • Work with the principal to improve school discipline including taking the lead on student daily discipline matters, collaborating with staff to ensure proper procedures are followed, and communicating with families regarding school incidents and events
  • Communicate with families regarding concerns about curriculum, faculty, or other issues.
  • Collaborate with faculty and the leadership team to engage families through conferences, regular communications, and events.
  • Assist in monitoring fiscal resources by taking part in the budgeting process and overseeing spending throughout the course of the academic year.
  • Lead for accreditation team.
