About The Position

DSI is hiring a Lieutenant for operations at the Port of Panama City . This leadership role requires prior law enforcement or port security experience and a strong ability to supervise personnel in a high-security maritime environment. The Lieutenant oversees daily security operations, ensures compliance with DSI policies and port regulations, and provides direct leadership to assigned security staff.

Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age
Prior law enforcement or port security experience required
1–3 years of supervisory experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Reliable transportation and communication
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic to intermediate computer skills
Ability to perform foot patrols and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must meet all pre-employment requirements
Valid Florida Class D Security License
Active TWIC card
Criminal Background Check
Motor Vehicle Record Check
Drug Screen

Responsibilities

Supervise daily security operations at the assigned port facility
Lead, train, and support assigned security personnel
Assign patrol areas and monitor officer performance
Enforce DSI policies, client requirements, and port regulations
Maintain a safe and secure environment for personnel, visitors, and cargo operations
Identify, report, and address security incidents and safety concerns
Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time
Serve as liaison between site personnel, port representatives, and DSI management
