About The Position

Name of Employer: Advantage Capital Corporation Position Title: Vice President Position Location: 156 West 56th Street, Suite 1204, New York, NY 10019 Salary: $185,000 - $190,000 per year Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Summary of Duties: · Lead the evaluation of equity and/or debt investments in diverse industries, assessing their potential for both financial return and measurable impact. · Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including on-site visits and management meetings, contributing to informed investment decisions. · Drive deal execution across various transaction types, including subordinated debt, senior debt, venture capital, and growth equity, from underwriting to closing. · Develop robust financial models and craft investment presentations for internal committee approval, showcasing strategic insights and investment opportunities. · Engage in ongoing portfolio management activities, including quarterly reviews, board participation, and follow-on investments, to maximize value and impact. · Represent Advantage Capital on portfolio company boards in Director and Observer roles, influencing strategic direction and performance enhancement. · Demonstrate expertise in negotiating various agreements, including term sheets, employment contracts, and other relevant documents, showcasing a keen ability to navigate complex negotiations and secure favorable terms for the organization. · Continuously expand expertise by learning about program structures of economic development initiatives such as New Market Tax Credits, Solar, and Rural Jobs & Investments Act. Education requirements: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or closely related field. Experience requirements: 2 years of experience in finance, investment banking, private equity or closely related field. Special Skills or Other Requirements: Must have experience in each of the following: 1. Utilize Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and market intelligence tools (e.g. Pitchbook, Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg). 2. Navigate complex negotiations (e.g., term sheet, employment contract, governance structure) to secure favorable terms for the organization by understanding the various stakeholders interests in the negotiation (e.g. co- investors, debt holders, management, and board of directors). 3. Lead a team and drive deal execution across various transaction types (e.g., debt, venture and growth equity, buyout) from underwriting to closing. 4. Perform in-depth business due diligence and financial analysis, including: · Understanding financial statements · Budgeting and forecasting · Financial modeling · Valuation analysis · Market sizing · Capital structure analysis · Understanding terms, conditions, and rights · On-site meetings with management / expert calls 5. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify and source investment opportunities for the potential of financial and social return, and craft investment and strategy presentations for internal committee or external clients. 6. Monitor, evaluate, and report ongoing performance of portfolio companies/existing investments. Advice and facilitate the management of portfolio companies on operations, financing, budgeting, growth strategy, M&A, and personnel. Travel requirements: Up to 20% of U.S. domestic travel required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or closely related field.
  • 2 years of experience in finance, investment banking, private equity or closely related field.
