About The Position

The Vice President, Sales Strats with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is responsible for developing and delivering tailored and proprietary commodity quantitative trading strategies and investment solutions for clients. This involves creating quantitative analysis, discussing commodity investment solutions, and customizing innovative solutions to meet client requirements. The role requires coordination with various internal teams, including Traders, Sales, Strategists, Technology, and Legal, to successfully deliver solutions and launch new products. Key duties also include conducting and presenting ongoing market and performance analysis for existing clients, drafting and maintaining marketing materials for Goldman Sachs Product Suite strategies, and leading the internal due diligence process for new product launches.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Knowledge of the Commodity Client Base and an in-depth understanding of the specific needs of commodity clients.
  • Existing relationships with key market players in the commodities and cross-asset space across asset managers, pension funds and hedge funds.
  • An understanding of the various factors that influence commodity markets, including but not limited to supply and demand dynamics, geopolitical events, economic indicators, and seasonal trends.
  • Experience working with different types of commodities including energy, metals, agriculture, and livestock.
  • Proficiency with the Bloomberg Terminal to build strategy performance monitors and create automated spreadsheets to run liquidity analysis.
  • Knowledge of the commodity systematic trading strategies including commodity risk premia and quantitative signals.
  • Experience in backtesting commodity systematic strategies across long/short and beta products.
  • An understanding of the legal and regulatory environment governing commodity trading, including knowledge of compliance requirements, trading regulations, and legal documentation related to commodity transactions including UCITS.
  • Experience in managing commodity execution and portfolio solutions with a thorough understanding of executing commodity trades and managing portfolio solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Ability to explain complex trading strategies and portfolio solutions to clients and internal teams.
  • 10% travel required both domestic and international to meet with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with clients and internal parties to develop tailored and proprietary commodity quantitative trading strategies.
  • Creating and delivering tailored quantitative analysis per client request.
  • Developing and discussing commodity investment solutions, including fundamental outlook and index solutions, both internally and to external clients.
  • Customizing innovative investment solutions that are tailored to clients’ requirements regarding investing into commodities.
  • Coordinating with Traders, Sales, Strategists, Technology, and Legal teams to successfully deliver the best solutions to clients, including launching new products as appropriate.
  • Conducting and presenting ongoing market and performance analysis for existing clients to explain the performance of their investments.
  • Drafting and maintaining the marketing material for all Goldman Sachs (GS) Product Suite strategies.
  • Leading the thorough internal due diligence process when a new product is launched.
