The Vice President-Sales and Operations, US is accountable for the end-to-end performance, growth and leadership of Clarke Energy’s US business. The role will lead the transformation and scale-up of the business, building on Clarke’s core strengths in engineered power solutions and exceptional aftermarket support, while establishing Data Centers as a core strategic growth pillar in the US market. As the senior figurehead for Clarke Energy in the US, the role carries full P&L accountability and responsibility for strategy execution, organizational capability, culture, governance, and customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • Proven executive-level leadership experience within complex, engineering-led or solutions-based businesses.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience scaling businesses materially over time.
  • Deep understanding of engineered solutions, power systems, infrastructure or adjacent industrial sectors.
  • Credibility and gravitas to operate at Board, customer and partner executive levels.
  • Demonstrated experience leading transformational change in fast-growing or evolving markets.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management capability.
  • High resilience, judgement and ability to remain effective under pressure.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience with 5 years of senior leadership experience with full P&L accountability.
  • Broad engineering or technical background (e.g. heavy industry, power, manufacturing, mechanical/electrical systems).
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across sales, projects and service.
  • Track record of driving growth through both new business and aftermarket/service models.
  • Strong operational and governance discipline in regulated or safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define, own and deliver a clear multi-year US strategy aligned to Clarke Energy and Group objectives.
  • Lead the transformation and scale-up of the US business, balancing growth, margin, risk and operational resilience.
  • Develop and execute a Data Centre growth strategy that is tightly integrated with Clarke’s core solutions and aftermarket model, rather than operating as a standalone sales channel.
  • Identify and convert new market opportunities across data centers, energy transition, grid resilience, peaking power and critical infrastructure.
  • Drive innovation in commercial models, delivery approaches and customer propositions to differentiate Clarke in the US market.
  • Act as the senior commercial leader and external face of Clarke Energy in the US.
  • Build and sustain senior-level customer and partner relationships across key accounts, developers, utilities, and technology partners.
  • Strengthen Clarke’s brand positioning as a specialist, solutions-led business delivering quality engineering, reliable delivery and best-in-class aftermarket support.
  • Maintain deep awareness of competitive dynamics, customer needs and industry trends, particularly within the data center ecosystem.
  • Hold full accountability for US P&L performance, including revenue growth, margin delivery, cost control and capital discipline.
  • Ensure operational excellence across sales, projects and service, with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery certainty and customer experience.
  • Monitor performance through clear metrics and governance, intervening decisively where required.
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing US leadership team capable of delivering sustained growth and complexity at scale.
  • Create a strong performance culture aligned to Clarke’s values, with clear accountability, succession planning and leadership depth.
  • Lead organizational evolution to ensure the structure, capability and capacity are fit for a significantly larger and more complex business.
  • Mentor and develop senior leaders, creating a sustainable pipeline of future leadership talent.
  • Ensure the highest standards of corporate governance, health & safety, employment law compliance and ethical leadership.
  • Work closely with Board colleagues, Group functions and international counterparts to align strategy, share best practice and leverage scale.
  • Represent US interests clearly and constructively within Group forums, ensuring local market complexity is fully understood.
