About The Position

Position Description : Responsible for managing the self-directed alternatives offerings, vision, strategy, and roadmap for the brokerage business. Performs in-depth research on alternative investment strategies, market trends, and economic indicators to identify potential investment product opportunities. Manages a portfolio of alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and other non-traditional assets. Analyzes risk associated with alternative investments, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk. Executes trading strategies for alternative investments, works closely with traders and portfolio managers. Creates financial models to evaluate the performance and potential of alternative investments, including cash flow analysis, valuation models, and scenario analysis. Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including SEC rules and internal company policies. Manages a team of alternatives strategists that assist with roadmap and feature design, business planning and strategy, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Vice President, Product Management (or closely related occupation) conducting diligence on or building alternative investment strategies in an asset management, brokerage, investment platform, or service provider environment.
  • Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Vice President, Product Management (or closely related occupation) conducting diligence on or building alternative investment strategies in an asset management, brokerage, investment platform, or service provider environment.
  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) building private market alternative investment products for self-directed retail investors (private equity, private credit, and real estate), including structuring products that are suitable for retail investors, using fund structures -- partnerships, real estate investment, business development companies, interval funds, and tender offer funds.
  • DE performing valuation and scenario analysis, including Discounted Cash Flow analysis, using Microsoft Excel, and benchmarking the results using competitor analysis; and informing investment products with the right risk and reward balance, using PitchBook and Preqin datasets.
  • DE building Go-to-market strategies that combine a digital platform and human interaction, using marketing methodologies (trigger strategies, surveys, and pilots) and grasp on consumer engagement metrics (Net Promotor Score (NPS)), Long Term Value (LTV), and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) ratio; and developing a scalable sales channel to drive adoption of complex investment products using Salesforce.
  • DE defining growth strategies for an alternative research, trading, and monitoring platform including setting a vision and market positioning by conducting market research with industry experts, using tools (CB insights and PitchBook) and newsletters (Alt Goes Mainstream); and building business case and financial modeling to estimate Return on Investment, using Jira.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and manages alternative investment strategies, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and other nontraditional assets.
  • Drives customer growth and adoption of the offering.
  • Works closely with enterprise partners to develop, manage, and execute the strategy and increase customer adoption and flows.
  • Collaborates with Customer and Product strategy organization responsible for commercializing offering to drive growth within the self-directed investing markets and customer segments.
  • Partners with the delivery organization to deliver alternatives offerings, features, and concepts to market targeted to different segments.
  • Leads the visioning, development, and iteration on strategic roadmap to optimize and meet customer and market needs.
  • Builds business plans inclusive of revenue modeling, pricing, and expenses while setting priority, sequencing and phasing of deliverables, and the go-to-market strategy with key value propositions.
  • Leads cross enterprise alignment for product readiness and deployment for brokerage alternatives, establishing project plans and managing throughout the life of the plan.
  • Maintains regular communication with clients, providing updates on portfolio performance, market conditions, and investment strategies.
