The Vice President of Pharmacy Services plays a vital role in driving clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and cost optimization across multiple acute care facilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pharmacy
  • Active and unencumbered Pharmacist License (must obtain Virginia licensure within 6 months of hire)
  • Proven experience overseeing multi-facility pharmacy operations in an acute care setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to influence across corporate and facility levels

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Master of Science (MS), or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience leading cost-containment and formulary management programs within a large healthcare system
  • Demonstrated success implementing enterprise-level pharmacy initiatives or service-line integration projects

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight of pharmacy operations, clinical services, and expense management across multiple hospitals.
  • Lead strategic planning and implementation of division-wide pharmacy initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop, monitor, and optimize pharmacy business processes to enhance quality, compliance, and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with corporate and facility leaders to improve purchasing efficiency and medication management outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards for all pharmacy departments under scope.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with clinical and operational leadership to advance patient care and staff development.
  • Monitor and analyze pharmacy performance metrics, budget adherence, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert in pharmaceutical services, providing guidance on regulatory preparedness and clinical decision support.
