About The Position

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Northeastern Junior College Vice President of Student Services. This position serves to provide primary administrative direction, leadership, and control for all student services consistent with established Colorado Community College System and NJC policies and procedures. The Vice President of Student Services maximizes student success by providing the leadership to develop, manage, and coordinate the essential service areas outside the classroom. Those services include but are not limited to Admissions/College Recruitment, Counseling/Assessment/Advising, Financial Aid, Records, Residence Life/Student Activities (Housing and Activities) and Campus Safety and Security. Requirements

  • Master's Degree required with emphasis on education or services
  • Three to five years of experience in student services at the college level
  • Familiarity with student justice procedures and Title IX.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations involving students
  • Familiarity with budgets and investments
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend events and respond to calls outside of normal working hours
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, community members and the system and college team in a positive, relationship-building way.
  • Effective writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a leadership position supporting subordinate growth and teamwork.
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, supervise and evaluate the student services effectiveness as part of the college's quality of student life and total educational program.
  • Supervise the operation and services of Admissions, Financial Aid, Records, Counseling Services, Residential Life, Student Activities, and Campus Safety and Security.
  • In cooperation with the Director of Housing, coordinate the successful operation of on-campus residence halls. Budgeting and funding for the residence halls is coordinated with the Vice President of Administrative Services.
  • Maintain and update the Student Handbook.
  • Serve as the Chief Judicial Officer on campus and administer the student judicial system.
  • Monitor reporting systems, and oversee the production of the annual Clery Report.
  • Serve as the Commencement Planning Coordinator
  • Serve as a Title IX Coordinator for the campus.
  • Oversee Campus Safety and Security, and maintain relationships with local first responders.
  • Supervise the development and allocation of the Student Services budget. Assures compliance with all fiduciary relationships.
  • Serve as the lead for service contracts supporting student services, monitor performance and recommend renewals.
  • Serve on the President's Administrative Cabinet and Leadership Team to provide Student Services input and expertise for the administrative functions of the college, and other committees as assigned.
  • Attend appropriate Colorado Community College System (CCCS) meetings and events and represent the college within the system and local community.
  • Respond to CCCS tasking and inquiries.
