Role Overview ANS is seeking a senior, people-centric VP of Information Technology to lead and modernize our enterprise IT function during a critical period of growth and integration. This role owns traditional IT services (end-user computing, Office 365, identity and access management, hardware/software lifecycle, helpdesk, and third-party application support) while serving as a trusted communicator and change leader across a 350+ person, fast-scaling engineering and consulting organization. In the first six months, this leader will report directly to the CEO and work together with the CTO to enhance operations and architect, build trust with the organization, and execute integration and migration initiatives in real time. Once the future-state environment is established and scaling, the role will transition to reporting permanently under the CTO, with clear delineation between enterprise IT services and software/product engineering. This is not a back-office role. Visibility, responsiveness, and clarity of communication are essential.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including senior leadership roles
  • Proven success supporting 400–1,000+ users in professional services, engineering, consulting, or similarly complex environments
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint management, and SaaS ecosystems
  • Demonstrated leadership of company integrations, domain migrations, and tenant consolidations
  • Strong track record of executive-level communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience rebuilding or scaling IT organizations where trust or performance had degraded

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise IT Leadership & Operations Own day-to-day IT operations supporting 350+ current and near-term users in a high-growth, multi-office environment
  • Establish clear service levels, escalation paths, and accountability for helpdesk responsiveness and issue resolution
  • Build confidence in IT through predictable execution, proactive communication, and visible leadership
  • Office 365, Identity & End-User Systems Serve as executive owner of Microsoft 365 system (Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Architect and manage licensing, security, permissions, retention, and governance at scale
  • Ensure reliable onboarding/offboarding, device management, and access control across the firm
  • M&A, Domain & Systems Integration Lead multi-company, multi-domain migrations into a unified architecture
  • Own strategy and execution for: Tenant consolidations Email, identity, and file migrations Application rationalization Data integrity and security
  • Develop and execute clear, audience-appropriate communication plans before, during, and after migrations and events.
  • Application & Vendor Ecosystem Oversee support and lifecycle management for engineering and consulting applications (such as Autodesk Construction Cloud [ACC], Bluebeam, and numerous engineering software packages).
  • Collaborate with a Business Systems Applications Manager to support SaaS, ERP, CRM and other similar platforms such as NetSuite, Pipedrive, Monday.com , Expensify, etc.
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate tools based on usability, scalability, and ROI.
  • Manage vendors, MSPs, and licensing partners with clear SLAs and performance metrics
  • Vendor, Budget & Financial Management (working with CEO and CTO) Budget planning, forecasting, cost transparency, and ROI IaaS/SaaS/PaaS license review and optimization Vendor selection and negotiation OPEX/CAPEX tradeoffs
  • Team Leadership & Capability Building Assess current IT team structure, roles, and skills; make thoughtful adjustments as needed
  • Coach and elevate managers and senior contributors; set expectations for professionalism and follow-through
  • Build a service-oriented IT culture that balances empathy with execution
  • Collaborate and work with other functional leaders (People Operations, Finance, Software, Strategic Execution, Commercial) to build systems and outcomes which create positive impact across these departments and the organization.
  • Strategy, Governance & Alignment Establish IT roadmaps that align with: Company growth plans M&A strategy Security and risk posture
  • Partner closely with the CTO to define boundaries and handoffs between: Enterprise IT Software, data, and automation initiatives
