The Vice President of Information Technology is the senior executive responsible for enterprise-wide IT strategy, operations, cybersecurity, and innovation at Valor Healthcare. Reporting to the CFO and executive leadership team, this role drives technology-enabled business transformation, private equity value creation, and competitive advantage across healthcare government contracting, private sector, and provider network operations. The position is critical to Valor’s growth and exit readiness, requiring expertise in M&A integration, healthcare IT systems, government compliance, and organizational leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years of technology leadership
  • Experience in PE-backed environments with value creation and exit preparation preferred
  • M&A experience across buy-side and sell-side transactions preferred
  • Healthcare IT: EHR, HIE, clinical systems, RCM, interoperability (HL7, FHIR, CCDA)
  • Government contracting and compliance: CMMC, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP, FISMA, FAR/DFARS, HIPAA
  • VA systems, veteran healthcare, CBOCs, or federal healthcare delivery preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance, as required, to support federal healthcare and government contracting programs
  • Expert: Microsoft Azure, M365, Entra ID, Power Platform, cybersecurity, IAM, zero trust
  • Proficient: Agile/SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, networking, data analytics, SQL Server, PowerBI, data warehousing
  • Basic: AI/automation, machine learning, generative AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT), and emerging healthcare AI trends
  • Strategic and financial acumen translating technology investments into enterprise value
  • Executive-level communication with boards, investors, and leadership
  • Budget management, ROI analysis, and cost optimization expertise
  • Strong vendor negotiation, project delivery, EQ, and collaborative leadership
  • Demonstrated discretion, judgment, and accountability in managing highly sensitive clinical, government, and transaction-related information

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute IT strategy aligned with business objectives, scalability, operational efficiency, and exit readiness
  • Lead IT due diligence for M&A and sale processes, including systems architecture, vendor contracts, cybersecurity posture, and risk mitigation
  • Drive digital transformation to improve clinical operations, patient outcomes, revenue cycle performance, and enterprise efficiency across multiple clinic locations
  • Lead M&A integration planning and execution, including technical due diligence, systems integration, infrastructure consolidation, and post-merger harmonization
  • Partner with executive leadership and PE sponsors on technology roadmaps, capital allocation, and investment strategies to maximize enterprise value
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure (Azure, Microsoft 365), automation and AI capabilities (Power Platform, Copilot, custom AI/ML), and IT asset lifecycle supporting a 1,300+ employee organization
  • Develop and manage IT budgets, financial models, and ROI metrics focused on cost optimization and value creation
  • Serve as executive IT leader based in proximity to the Addison, TX headquarters, with flexibility to support extended hours during critical initiatives, implementations, incident response, and M&A activity
  • Oversee EHR strategy (CharmHealth), BRAVE proprietary application, RCM systems, and technology supporting VA, TRICARE, and fee-for-service expansion
  • Ensure interoperability (HL7/FHIR), HIE connectivity, telehealth platforms, and secure data exchange with VA, federal, and community partners
  • Support data science and analytics environments for PowerBI reporting, quality improvement, and value-based care initiatives
  • Lead CMMC Level 2 certification by November 2026, including scope definition, remediation, policies, technical controls, and audit preparation in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Maintain enterprise cybersecurity and compliance programs (NIST 800-171, FedRAMP, FISMA, HIPAA), including penetration testing, vulnerability management, and incident response
  • Manage security infrastructure (firewalls, VPN, endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention) and oversee IT audits and regulatory responses (DCAA, VA OIG)
  • Ensure proper handling, protection, and governance of HIPAA/PHI, CUI, and sensitive M&A and proprietary business data in accordance with federal and healthcare regulations
  • Lead internal software development using agile methodologies, SDLC standards, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and version control
  • Oversee development of internal platforms (BRAVE, Save & Recapture), APIs, and enterprise integration architecture
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships, enterprise licensing, SaaS/cloud contracts, and vendor performance
  • Oversee third-party risk management, vendor security assessments, BAAs, and DevOps/AI platforms
  • Manage network infrastructure, telecommunications, system documentation, and corporate website for M&A readiness
  • Build and lead a high-performing IT organization aligned with company growth and culture
  • Recruit, develop, and retain technology talent with clear roles, performance metrics, and career pathways
  • Implement ITSM frameworks (service desk, incident, change, and problem management)
  • Partner with business development on technical solutions, cost estimates, and proposal support
  • Collaborate with clinical, operations, finance, and HR teams to deliver measurable business value
